When waitng for a cruise, has anyone rented a privately owned vacation home rather than a hotel? We are a family group of 7 and thought this would be a better solution for us and just wondered if this would be a available for two nights in the Fort Lauderdale area? Looking forward to our first cruise already.
Hi marthas harbour and welcome to Cruise-chat. We stay at the TropiRock in Ft. Lauderdale. They have rooms with kitchenettes and usually rent by the week. It's located 2 blocks from the beach, it is an older motel, but in good condition and very clean. You can check it out here, they may be able to accomodate you. Like Sandy said, it's hard to find someone that will rent for less than 4 nights, especially in the winter. Best wishes and have a wonderful cruise!
Check out www.hotels.com I am not sure about Ft Lauderdale but they have condo link and we found lots of single homes for rent by the day in Orlando. No minimums but you do pay a cleaning deposit no matter how many days you are there. I beleive they start at about $75.00 depending on size. We are looking at renting a 6 bedroom for 3 days in Orlando and driving to Miami for our cruise. There will be 20 of us but I think only 14 of us will be in Orlando. For about $200.00 a day we can house 14 people with all the comforts of home including private pool. We can save on food by preparing meals there. They all appear to be new homes with pools and some even have pool tables. For a 3 bedroom I beleive they are about $125.00 per day.
