Our ship, the Century, arrives in port at 5 A.M. and we have an 11 A.M. flight to catch at Schipol. What is the fastest way to reach the airport, and is it realistic to make the flight in this time frame? This is our first cruise and have no idea what time we will actually be able to leave the ship. Any info. you have would be appreciated.

The fastest way would be to take a taxi. Probably about 45 Euro or so. The cheapest way would be to take the train. You can pick it up right by the pier or Central station. It goes right into the airport. It makes about four/five other stops along the way. So it isn't the quickest. It cost about 5 Euro. If you took the cruise lines transfers you would have to wait for the bus to fill up. If you are the first group off the ship you should be able to take a taxi and meet your 11:00 flight.

Thanks for your input, it looks as though making the 11 o'clock flight is realistic.
