Looking for advice on this excursion. We are traveling with a 4 and 6 year old and there aren't many "exciting" adventures that are age appropriate. We found this sub-alpine mountain explorer and wondered if anyone has been on it. Is it worth the expense? Is it really appropriate for young children? Is there a better choice in Haines? Thanks!
We did not really find any decent excursions in Haynes. However, the ferry ride over is fantastic. Lots to see, beautiful scenery and well worth the trip over and back. Haynes is an interesting town to walk around in. If you are not scheduled to stop in Skagway, you could try to take the ferry there and do the railroad, which would be great for kids.
We were in Haines in July and spent most of a day there just strolling around. A walk around Ft. Seward is very nice, nice local folk art, we visited an eagle museum that was very nice and out of the way, make a visit to the Hammer museum, stroll along the main street. A nice leasurely day.
