We've been on the White Pass twice now and will do it again next year....It's by far the best of Skagway.....we've been up there in May with 8 feet of snow and then in June with everything all green....It's an amazing feat of building and a great ride....It's well worth the money..Enjoy the cruise and the train ride.
We took that last train (last week) and had ony 10 passangers on our car. We had our choice of a full seat~on both sides as well as the "back porch" as we were on the last car on the trip down. What a wonderful view, must have taken 50 photos! "One of the clearest days of the season",the conductor advised us.

Just back from a b2b to Alaska on the Volendam and here is aless expensive alternative to the train. The train is a wonderful excursion but if you want to see the same spectacular scenery rent a car in Skagway and drive up the Klondike Highway (Route 2) from Skagway to WhiteHorse. This is an unforgettable trip which I have done twice.

Could that be Emerald Lake? It's been 6 years since our glorious trip, but the beauty of the Yukon will never leave my memory. The railway tour was amazing, but understanding the gold rush psyche was fascinating. Talk about survival of the fittest!
