We travelled in the second week of September. We flew into Seattle for one night and the weather was nice although wearing a thin jacket was necessary. Same thing in Ankorage but a slightly warmer jacket was needed in the morning. We were lucky in that for a week about half thedays were very nice, sunny and warm. Be prepared for rain and cool weather if you go inland to Denali (which is a recommended trip). It was rainy and cold at Juno and Sitka. Ketchikan and the rest of the days on ship were sunny and pretty warm. We lucked out I think. We could have worn shorts ion Ketchican.
You have to hope for nice weather but if you go to the mountain it will be wet and cold. It was in mid-september.
Hi! I went in July and it was quite warm about 78. My best advice is layers just like everyone says. I found one minute I could be hot and the next cold. Overall though I would say the weather is pretty mild.
This is an unusual summer for Southeast, although we are having rain as of now its been mostly sunny. This time of the year if your use to weather in the 60's then a light coat with a rain coat handy. I live here all my life. Also have other information about our community if you are anyone is interested.
Thanks for the offer to provide information about the area. I am traveling to Seattle tomorrow for a cruise onboard NCL Star on Sunday. I have noticed the unusually warm temps and sunny days you have been experiencing - but have also noted that this upcoming week (my cruise week - of course!) looks like it will be a very wet one!! Oh well, I am sure it will not dampen my spirits. And speaking of spirits - does anyone know if there is a good place to purchase wine near the port? Nancy
