Has anyone rented a car in Skagway to drive to Emerald Lake in Yukon Territory? Is it worth the 4-hour roundtrip drive?

We did not rent a car, but took an excursion last year into the Yukon by bus and back on the White Pass Railroad. One of our stops was Emerald Lake. The lake was beautiful, but the lake itself would not be worth the drive to me. The bus made several other stops, such as the Yukon sign, the world's smallest desert, photo and shopping opportunities and a lunch stop. We found the trip enjoyable and had plenty of time at each stop.
