A quick note live from the Rhapsody Of The Seas. Great cruise so far. We just left Skagway and are headed to Tracy Arm for tomorrow.
New RCI policy, at least on the Rhapsody but I assume it is fleet-wide....1am curfew for those under 18. After that time they have to either be in their cabins, with youth staff, or with parents/guardians.
Also - very tight on the booze in luggage. Proof: I brought 3 bottles of water back from our excursion today and my bag was pulled aside for inspection when I returned to the ship. No problem with the water, but they were looking for any booze people bought in town.
Sounds like a good policy to me too. Glad you are having a great cruise, Dave. It must be new. The only thing I could find pertaining to it was their right to implement a curfew.
Hope ya'll have a wonderful day, and take lots of pics of Tracy Arm.
Dwayne

Sounds more than reasonable to me. We miss you and are glad to hear all is going well! Of course, for you and your family, it's all going way too quickly.
The water bottles were still sealed so that was all they looked for. I imagine if they had been opened they might have smelled the contents.
There are lots of kids aboard.
We didn't go to Tracy Arm since Sawyer Glacier has been active and the channel is iced up pretty badly. Our Captain took an alternate trip to Endicott Fjord to the Dall (?) Glacier. Spectacular! We got to within 600 feet of the glacier face. The Captain said the closest the ships have been getting to Sawyer is 6 miles! I have some awesome photos of it all.
Sonny would have won the champagne at the C&A party for most cruises. No Diamond Plus members aboard! The top RCI cruiser aboard has 20 cruises.
I would really like to hear more of your thoughts on the ship. We are scheduled for the 4th of July out of Seattle and would really appreciate any of your unique insites or observations regarding the ship or the ports.
I promise I will not bring any thing outside of water on board .... Ok RCL?
I'm glad to hear you are having a good time. I knew you would! After seeing Alaska I think the words "beautiful", "spectacular", etc. take on a whole new meaning.
The curfew has been a policy for awhile. When we went on the Adventure a few years ago they told us there was a curfew for the kids under 18. Not very strictly enforced though because I saw kids out. My daughter had just turned 18 so maybe till your kids are the age were you notice them on your own you just don't pay attention to that rule.

Sounds like someone is having a good time! Thanks for the info about the curfew,Cruising in Feb taking the 16 year old grandson, I think this will help. Well Dave you have more than enough ice for drinks so thats a good thing. I'm headed to Sanfrancisco Fri I think I'll bring some fire fighting gear.
Dave, Glad you are having a great cruise .We are looking into booking a cruise with RCI.Can you purchase a bottle of liquor on the ship and then have it in your room? We have not had a cuise with RCI yet , but from what I have read I will not be disappointed.
hi dave hope your having a great cruise. i expect the itinery is amazing but are you not disheartened when you have been on the liberty when compared to the Rhapsody.
RCI doesn't allow the purchase of bottles of liquor for in-room consumption. This is typical for most cruise lines although a few allow it.
We are in the Inside Passage today, heading for Seattle. It is foggy with a spitting rain and 3-5 foot seas. The Rhapsody is riding well and while it is supposed to be cloudy all day, the high should reach the mid 60's.
We are doing the luggage valet program which is well worth the $20 per person fee. The ship will print out our Delta boarding passes and luggage tags, and they will take our luggage to the airport. We'll see it again (hopefully) when we land at HSV (Huntsville Alabama). This is similar to the pre-9/11 luggage options that were available and it is nice to see some of that return.
Dave, We just returned from the Rhapsody last week. Didn't you love Captain Bjorn and his "wakey, wakey?!" I found the crew to be extremely friendly and helpful. I hope your cruise was as wonderful as ours was!
I'd rather be on a cruise ship in the 60's than in Wisconsin in the 80's. I never could use the luggage valet program because I never fly the right airline.
