Will be cruising Spledour of the seas in Oct. Booked a balcony cabin. Can anyone please let me if there is a kettle inside the cabin.
I was told by my agent that there is none but can be asked for. Just want to make sure that there will be no problem getting a kettle on borad otherwise I might have to bring one myself.
On the Rhapsody last week we had an electric kettle in our cabin, along with a selection of teas and coffee grounds too (we also had a french-style coffee maker). I thought it was an amenity for having a suite, but in the current issue of Cruise Travel they discuss the Rhapsody and it's recent Asian deployment. The article said they had to put tea in each cabin because of demand by the passengers who were mostly from that region.
So - I don't know if all ships have them or if you can ask for one. It was a 220 volt connection. We didn't use it.
I've been on 19 cruises and have never found the need to have a kettle, or a teapot, in my cabin.....that's what they have dinning rooms for???? but if you need one, I guess you could bring one.....Happy cruising anyway..

The RCI list of prohibited personal items includes coffee makers, which I imagine includes any electric device that heats water such as a tea kettle. This means you can only use one that is provided by the ship.
Just call room service if you want hot water, or go get it at the Windjammer.
