Hello,
My boyfriend and I will be taking our very first cruise on 7/3/03. We will be crusing on RCCL Sovereign of The Seas and I have a few questions.

1. I received a brochure from my travel agent and I must admit, there are not many pictures of the Sovereign. Can someone please tell me if the boat is in good condition for its age. Being that this is our first cruise, I'm really praying for a "nice looking boat".

2. We are not planning on taking a credit card. We wil be traveling with cash and I'm concerned about the problems that this my cause. Can someone please advise?

3. Are there any good excursions that are available in Nassau that are not mentioned on RCCL website? How about moped rentals, are they available and whats the cost?

4. What is the cost for the Tuxedo rentals on board the ship?

Thanks in advance for your help in answering my questions.

Yes, she is in good shape and I think you will be impressed with her. Check www.CruiseReviews.com for up to date reviews on her.

You will be required to post a cash deposit in lieu of a credit card to open on onboard account. Bring lots of cash! A credit card is a much more reasonable way to settle your account if you can swing it.

Do not rent a moped in Nassau unless you are an expert rider. Check out www.PortReviews.com to see what is available in Nassau for excursions. There are lots of local tour operators at the foot of the pier if you do not take one of the ship's excursions.

I have not rented one but believe they are reasonable and certainly worth it if you want to dress for formal nights.

These are links to my cruise pics from Sovereign:

Sovereign is a great ship. Maybe not as new and "perfect" as many of the brand new ships, but I love Her!

Since you are not planning on taking a credit card, you will have to open a cash account when you check-in because all purchases on the ship are exclusively put on your Sea Pass card. Purchases like gifts, drinks, ship photos, forfot your razor? You can buy all kinds of stuff in the gift shop... anything you buy on the ship will go on your Sea Pass.

I am sure there are many excursions that are available in Nassau that are not mentioned on RCCL website, you will be harassed by the locals to do them, be sure of that. Traffic there is *insane* and probably not safe to do the moped renals, just my opinion.

Tuxedo rentals on board the ship, in the very back of the Cruise Vacation documents is lists:

Classic Black Tuxedo $85
Black formal shoes $12
Classic Paisley Vest and Tie set $15
Pair of socks $6
Ralph Lauren Vest set $20
Suspenders $5

You can order 2 weeks before cruising
