Royal Caribbean announced another new neighborhood on Oasis of the Seas, called Entertainment Place.

This neighborhood will feature show rooms, lounges, a Comedy Club, casino, and more. The drawings continue to amaze me.

the drawings are pretty amazing, but take a look at the people - all very attractive

i wonder if we would be as amazed if they used models they gave a better representation of the average person - like "hairy shoulders" guy, or "not wearing enough bathing suit" lady Razz

EXPENSIVE!!!-The only response I can offer after comparing Oasis prices with her competitors on the same itineraries! I will wait to read the reviews of those who have cruised on her-She is a beauty and she offers many wonders but I think I like something a bit smaller and cozier! Affordability becomes an issue when I may have to reduce the number of days I can spend at sea!

It does. For one 7 night cruise on the Oasis in June, 2010, I can do two 7 night cruises at the same time on other ships and in better cabins. The pricing for Oasis really troubles me. $4300 for the three of us in a standard inside cabin. I can't get over that one. People might say "but look at all the new stuff on that ship!" But we all know that most of that new stuff will have extra-fees attached to it and most of it won't be included in the cruise fare.

Granted there will be adjustments to the Oasis pricing as time goes on and they get a handle on the bookings and popularity of the ship. We'll see.

Our balcony cabin on deck 6 for our Jan cruise was a little over $1200 a piece. Being one of it's first cruises I didn't think that was too bad. Our Deck 6 balcony was $989 for our October cruise. I don't think that is to overpriced compared to other cruises at the same time.

We never have done a Caribean cruise and our first is on the Solstice Aqua class and that was more than the Oasis for Jan 2010 we booked
deck 14 in a D1 Cat for $1279, is that bad?

This price thing can become an issue it all depends on your pocket and what is comfortable for you to pay, if it is afordable for you then I say go for it, if not than hey read about it and cruise on some other ship maybe they all are not meant to be for all of us who knows I mean RCCL had to know that a ship this size would be more costly so it is what it is. I myself would love to be on this ship but YES YES YES as of right now it is NOT affordable for me and my crew, one can only hope for some wonderful special. Smile

The Oasisis will be the largest cruise ship afloat when she is sailing. As such, due to her size, she will only pull into those ports which can accomodate her and the enormous numbers of passengers that will disembark. Her port options are presently limited to those ports that many of us veteran cruisers have been to time and time again -thus it becomes hard to justify cruising to a familiar, often repetitious port of call-at greater expense.

Affordability is only one of the considerations we consider prior to booking. The allure of newer or less frequently visited ports of call is another major factor! Someday, in the not too distant future , many of us shall cruise the Oasis and her sister. For the present, I know that we shall continue to keep our eyes on her-at least until we find the right cruise at that just right price!

I agree about the ports, the 2 times we've been to Nassau and Labadee...we stayed on the ship and enjoyed having it to ourselves and a few others. I just wanted to sail on Oasis! Just for the experience.

I certainly understand about the prices though....I'm the "free spirit" (for lack of a better descrition)....my wife loves a bargins and we have a "discussion" about costs and cabins on nearly every cruise....sometimes she gives in....sometimes I do....depends on the cruise I guess Wink Then again...if we could get away the $129 4 day cruises being offered on Majesty looks very inviting!

Have a great day!

The Oasis is only doing eastern Caribbean runs initially because they still have to build facilities in the western Caribbean to accommodate the ship.

I wonder why Veracruz isn't a regular port for cruises leaving from ports along the Gulf Of Mexico? The reason I say that is because Carnival sent the Ecstasy there while dodging Ike. But why is it only an "any old port in the storm" stop? I like Cozumel a lot but frankly even it is getting a little boring.

Spiritfilled,
There will be seven neighborhoods.
They have a separate website for the Oasis. Go to www.oasisoftheseas.com
