That does it. It's the last straw. RCI has eliminated the pillow chocolates & it was the only reason I sailed on them. Wink

That would be a deal breaker for one of my daughters. We almost had a mutiny when she found out they wouldn't give her chocolate milk in the dining room on her third cruise. (the first two it was a daily deal) One must had priorities and I can't think of many more important than following the chocolate.

We've gotten baffled looks when asking for chocolate milk before. One one cruise (forget which line) they brought my son a cup of hot cocoa that had been iced down. I guess keeping a supply of Hershey's syrup is a huge logistics dilemma for some ships.

We never eat the pillow chocolates. We probably have a bag full of them growing stale in the cabinet. But it is another sign of the whittling away at the mainstream cruise product.

I love it Dave, can you imagine people getting out their Sea Pass for a pillow chocolate? Do you still get the bed turned down? How about towel animals? I love towel animals!!

They could have some little menus printed up, just like the ones for breakfast that you hang on the door handle. The "turn down" menu, where you can select chocolates (please enter the number of orders in the box), towel animals, turndown service, etc. The towel animals would have various prices, depending on difficulty.

Would those towel animals include UV Protective sunglasses with the cruiseline logo? It might be worth it!

Due to the extra time involved the cabin stewards no longer provide towel animals. No joke.

Oh my, no towel animals, no chocolate, no lobster!
They do still turn down the bed and replace dirty towels?
I love crusing so much, I will survive.
But the extra touches were special!

Seriously, I had towel animals and candy on my last RCI cruise about 6 weeks ago so either this is another test or a recent policy change.

But maybe we can dust off these passenger rules from years ago and reinstitute them!

HI All only 1 week till im on the Monarch OTS, this will only be our 4th cruise but the way things are going it looks like the best years for cruising are behind us. I can forsee RCCI getting out the orange paint cause the are turning into well known British low budget cruise and flight company where you have to pay for absolutly EVERYTHING

I've been in a much better mood for the past two days and thought it was because I was getting so close to my next cruise. Nope—I just realized that I haven't been listening to the news. I don't know if I could handle not getting a chocolate on my pillow! I better change to an inside cabin so I won't be able to jump off a balcony.

I sincerely hope there will be no additional charge if we make our own towel animals!

ODonnell72, I do hope that your cruise is fantastic! Please let us know when you return. Bon Voyage wave happy dance wave

BillyBuzzy, you might have hit on an idea. We can make towel animals in exchange for chocolates. We make up the animals and give them to the cabin steward. He/She then gives us some chocolates for our pillow, free of charge!

We have had nights of no towel animals: too busy for whatever reason, set sail day, etc., but so far more towel animal days than not. It is not a big deal, but they are surprises we look forward to and we have lot of pictures of them.

See, this is yet another reason why I am dreading this cruise. No chocolates - fine! But no towel animals??? This is just ridiculous! I am going back to Disney! ha!

One thing for sure-there will always be some "towel animals" hanging out around the pools-they'll be in the deck chairs you couln't reserve at 6AM!!!
