Hi!

My wife and I are booked for the brand-new Navigator Of The Seas in February. I see from reading the brochures that they've added a Chops Grille (upscale steakhouse) to Navigator, which wasn't present on other members of the Voyager class. Chops Grille does appear on other RCCL ships, though.

I was wondering if anyone has ever eaten at Chops on another trip and can describe the experience. We're sailing for our 1st anniversary and we'd like a nice treat if this qualifies. We sailed on Grand Princess last year for our honeymoon and found the premium restaurants a mixed bag: the upscale Italian was superb, the Southwestern/Tex-Mex restaurant was pretty blah.

Thanks in advance for the info!

We ate at Chops on the Brilliance of the Seas in Nov. It is nice and they serve good steaks. Is it worth the extra charge, in a word NO. Don't get me wrong, the food and service is very good but I would not do it again.

What is the extra charge? Is it $20 per person like the Italian restaurant?

Do they require more formal attire than the standard dining room?

Just curious, thanks for the info!

Chops was worth every penny. We went there twice and to Portifinos once on the Brilliance in Oct. Don't miss either one of them!

Dress code in "Smart Casual" (guys wear a jacket) as a minimum.

Enjoy

Scott,

We just returned from an 11 day cruise on the Brilliance and it was one of the best cruises we have made. The Chops Grille and the Portofino were both great and more than worth the price. We will be posting a comprehensive review in a matter of days.
