Einstein theorized that time and light were affected by gravitational forces causing light and the fabric of space and time to bend. From reading through these posts, only Einstein knows for sure what time it will be when you get to your port of call.

I think NASA proved this theory a few years ago during some space mission.

I really cannot believe it. We actually change time for Cozumel and Belize and then changed it back to the original time. I really don't see how it helped but to each it's own. Some people believe the got an extra hour of sleep.

The most confusing cruise I ever was on about time changes was CCL's Elation. They had moved her to the east coast from the west coast in 2006 for a few runs from Port Canaveral. The ships had usually stayed on ship's time in the past to Cozumel.

I don't know if it was a mix up or what with the west coast crew, but we had multiple time changes concerning Cozumel! They changed the ship's time to Cozumel's time upon arrival, then changed it back after departure. It happened to be on the day that we change the clocks back one hour.

Everyone was confused that night about what time it was on the ship, including the crew. It was one time in the casino, another on the lido clock, and another in the disco. It became a topic of discussion the next day amongst guests about what time it was according to where they were on the ship. Smile

It is really a poor decision to change the ship's time for just one hour. Whenever something is changed it causes confusion, and a one hour temporary change is silly. You can bet not all the passengers get the word, or they do but forget to set their watches. Every spring and fall when the time changes take effect, you can guarantee people will show up late (or early) for work, church, etc.
