Has anyone has any experience of a Gluten Free diet while on board. My son is a celiac and I have heard various things about the support of it. RCCL were informed last year and have been reminded since then. I have emailed both UK and USA and still have not had a reply. We leave on Sat 11th to head of to Barcelona.
Hi jary8, welcome to cruise-chat. If the cruise line has been notified in advance, as you stated, then they will have sent the requirements to the chef on your ship. They will provide for your requirements. You will be on your own, however, at the buffets. Best wishes and have a marvelous cruise!
Royal Caribbean is very good at accommodating a gluten-free diet. Make sure that, upon embarkation, that you go to the head waiter station immediately and make sure that they are aware of the special dietary needs. Are you a member of the RCCL Crown and Anchor Society. If you are, you can select "gluten free diet" in your personal preferences section. On a side note, I am almost positive that the ice cream served in the Windjammer is also gluten free.
