This is something I read in another post. Here's the link. Is this true? Are there no shows on the ship? I find it hard to believe but could it be?

Read it again. Yes it is true that there are no shows "While in Port". If you are in port until late in the evening they will not schedule shows on board. This is true of every cruise line I have been on. MOST of the time you will be leaving port before dinner time and then they have shows.

Gee...Ok Jim...I guess we'll have to take in some local entertainment on the 29th of October....that is my Bday...turning 40 on this cruise! ARGH!! The 29th is a Monday and we are scheduled to arrive at 4pm...so for the evening do you know of any shows we could take in that night? We are docked in Hamilton. We leave the following day at 4pm...will there be a show that night on the ship then? First cruise....sorry! Empress of the Seas.

We had heard about the "no shows while in port in Bermuda." It isn't true. We went on the Empress of the Seas to Bermuda a few weeks ago. THe first night in Hamilton Bermuda they had the RC Singers and Dancers in the show Viva! The second night in Hamilton they had a magic and comedy show which we didn't go to because we went over to the Royal Naval Dockyard for the local arts and crafts shopping. I think they won't have that in Oct. though. The third night we were in St. George. The show was comedian Joey Van.

You can read a LOT more about that cruise here.

And you can see lots of photos here

Thanks for clarifying that for me Agutaya! I will no longer look for things to do on our first night in Hamilton port...that takes a load off...I just wanted to stay on the ship that night...it's my bday so the suds may be flowing? Not likely though...wanna clear head for the next day on the beach! Smile
