Will be sailing on Galaxy out of Rome on Sept 25th with ports of call in Greece and Turkey.

Are there any Canadians who have done this trip recently who can verify whether we need a seperate Visa for entering Turkey or are we covered under the blanket ships Visa?

The ticket book is confusing - in one area is seems to say that US and Canadian Passport holders do not need anything else and in another area suggests they might.

HELP!!!!

I would call your consulate. We received so many different answers from the cruise line, visa services and assorted websites. The cruise line told us we needed nothing, and that was completely false.

We are US citizens so your needs may be different, but were told by the consulate we only needed a single-entry visa in order to fly home from Turkey. Had we flown home from a different country, we would not need one to spend time in Turkish ports as day tourists/cruise ship passengers, ultimately leaving Turkey via the cruise ship in which we arrived. Also, we could have arranged on the ship to get the visa at the port of disembarkation, but were advised it made things smoother to obtain it prior to the trip.

Good luck to you. Have a great trip.

The Turkish embassy in Ottawa has confirmed in writing that no visa is required for cruise ship passengers visiting ports of call who do not stay longer than 24 hours.

If you arrive by air a 30 day visa must be acquired at the port of entry for $60 U.S. for Canadian citizens.

Many thanks. The Cruise ticket booklet is confusing but I agree it seems that if you arrive on a Cruise Ship and then leave on a Cruise ship within 24 hours that no visa is required. Why Celebrity cannot make this clear for Canadians on the ticket I do not know - or why they dont have this information when you call them in Miami (when jayjaycan can get the information why cant they?) Not great service hey! Thanks Jayjaycan
