Hi,
We (a group of 6) are disembarking in Barcelona and have flights out at 7pm. We are trying to find a good place to store luggage for the day. I've seen references to several train stations and the airport, but the lockers seem expensive and potentially too small. I'd like to avoid having to make two trips to the airport. Therefore, I'm thinking of getting an inexpensive hotel room for the day to store luggge. Any suggestions or experience with this problem? Perhaps there's a luggage service at the dock. Thanks Glenn

I would just rent a van -

storage and transfer within the city and to the airport!

What else you need more?

That's an interesting idea. Do you mean rent a van that I would drive myself, or hire a van and driver for the day? Any idea what it would cost to hire a van and driver for a day?

I would get one with a driver.

You have a guide and he must concentrate for traffic and explain you the sights!
He will take you to places (restaurants) with natives!
You have a transfer!
You have a storage!

I do not think that there is a better way to arrange all-in-one.

The best is you check at Google, Yahoo etc.

Limo-Service
Taxi-Service
Tour Guide
Barcelona

I am sure you get some one. As you are six it could be quite interesting.

But driving in Europe is easy. Not worse than Montréal or New York.

Tien-Lun Yao

Hello Glenn, just found some info for you, it's at the airport here as follows.
Lockers:large 4.50 euros
med 4.00 euros
small 3.50 euros
Ihope this help because I've checked hotels and I coundn't find any that less than $100. dollars of course you did not say when. Here is a web site I found www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com it has a lot of helpful info, including maps, restaurant, etc.
oh yeah and reviews too.
Happy cruising. Grace.

Hello Cinderella:

if you cannot find your personal "Prince" incl. "castle" to stay...

you can visit all over Europe

Accor Hotels

They have low budget chains like

ETAP / FORMULE 1 and you get in Barcelona double rooms from 32,00 EUR (less than 40,00 USD).
(Functional, clean and a lot of self-service - reminds more to self-storage units incl. beds - but for those who need only a bed and stay the whole day outside. It's no "spa" to stay the whole day inside!!! Maybe perfect who need a "locker" incl. "dressing room".)

Their low-mid budget chain calls IBIS.

Their high-mid budget chains call NOVOTEL and MERCURE.

Further recommendation to find a hotel under 100 USD in Barcelona:

Hotel Reservation System

and

the Spanish hotel chain NH Hoteles.

Good Luck and have a nice travel!

Regards,
HeinBloed
