Based upon our experiences during our Oct '08 trip, I have made a few minor changes/additions to the train site. These pertain to Livorno/Firenze.

Good news for thoses going through Civitavecchia - elevators in the sottopassagio (underground) are coming. Could not get a time frame other than "soon". Used them in Pisa - big help when you have luggage.

Added a new section called "Italian Train Basics" which includes better organization and a bunch of new pictures. Now you can see why or why not baggage might or might not be a problem for you.

Rewrite of the FCO-Rome-Civitavecchia section (with more pics and tips) is about done.

Another tip which can become crucially important. Learn how to say the name of the port of Rome...CIVITAVECCHIA.
On a recent cruise 2 English ladies were late getting back with the train so they grabbed a taxi and asked to be taken to the PORT (they didnt know the name )
The driver took them to the Airport instead and they missed the ship's departure even if the captain waited an entire hour.
They took a plane from the airport to Sardinia, Alghero where they caught up with the ship.
