Hello. I am a bit confused as to how to use the transportation in Venice. Our ship Brillance of the Sea does a 2 day stop in Venice. We arrive at the Stazione Marittima. We want to go to San Marco. Do we need to use a shuttle? Can we walk? Do we need to buy a "one day travel card" or a 1-3 day blu card? We plan to visit Venice, have supper on the ship then go back to town for the evening. Then go again to town the next day for part of the day. All information that you think we need will be extremely useful. Thanks a lot! :-)
Hi, first of all welcome to our cruisechat. Here are some links vo Venice transportation: 1.) fares http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/articles/venice-vaporetto-fares.htm The price for one adult riding on one of the vaporettos / waterbuses is € 5. So you will buy a one-day travel card for € 12 oder a 3-day card for € 25. The cards are available at any Actv vaporetto ticket booth. 2) Venice map http://www.veniceonline.it/Maps/Map2_VeniceOnLine.jpg 3) Map of the Stazione Marittima: http://www.vtp.it/pages/navi/mappaCrociere.jsp You will take the shuttle from the pier to Piazzale Roma. From there you can walk to Piazza S. Marco or go by vaporetto / waterbus. Line 1 is the "Sightseeing line". Vaporeto station is just at the Piazzale Roma. Go some steps down to the Canal Grande. 3) Information about the Cruise terminal: http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/articles/venice-cruise-terminal.htmations about the Stazione Marittima: On this page there are many links to other infos. Have a nice cruise and some evervelming days in Venice, my favorite town. Regards Uwe
