Hello,
I'm going to be on the Emerald Princess leaving Rome June 17th. I need to do a sanity check on our Monte Carlo stop. We are planning on walking (or taking the elevator/stairs) to Museo Oceanography to catch the 30 min. Tourist Train to see the main sights. Then we are going to walk (Is this possible?) to the Train Station and take the train to Nice. In Nice we are planning to take the Tram that tours Nice. Is this all doable. Can we walk to everything?
Our time in port in 7:00am-6:00pm.
Thanks so much in advance for your advice.

Yes, its all doable in a port day. Your walk to the train station in Monte Carlo will be a bit of a hike, but you would also have the option of taking one of the local buses (several of their lines go the station). As to Nice, if you really like to walk, its a good city to explore on your feet. You are talking about a few miles of stolling during your day, but for many of us that is just good exercise. There is no better way to discover a city than to walk.

KruzenKaren- Monte Carlo is very, very hilly-one needs to be in shape. It is a hike to the station-but the train to Nice is quick,it takes about 35 minutes. How long the tour takes will be something else. Last time I was in Nice the Tram was not in operation.

Bon voyage,

It is impressive to see so many buildings, people, and changes in elevation on so few acres. When I was last in Monaco (long time ago) I was in good physical condition and it still wore me out. The train to Nice is quick and easy - once you get to the station!
