We will be taking a cruise this summer that leaves out of Dover. We will probably stay in London two days before the cruise. I would like to know the easiest and cheapest ways to get from the Airport to London and then from Londo to Dover. I could also use some suggestions for hotels in London and the main sites you would reecommend we cover in our two days in London. Thanks in advance.
Hi, check out the website London Underground, that is their subway. Click the tab "getting around", there is a link to subways from Heathrow to London Paddington station. They say that is the cheapest way to get into central London. You can also take the Heathrow Express train, it is quicker, but more expensive. We took the Gatwick Express, last summer. We just walked up and bought our tickets when we arrived at the airport. From Paddington station, then take a taxi to your airport. I would not recommend a taxi to and from the airport, unless you get a flat rate settled on prior to entering the cab. There is ALOT of city traffic, if was very time consuming. Stick to the Express, or cheaper and longer subway, both arriving into Paddington. Can't help you with Dover, but I know there is a train that will take you there. Ask the hotel front desk, or tourist office. Hope this helps, Lil' Lori
