We just came back from the Veendam. When we arrived into the port for Florence we took a taxi 15 euros for 2 people to the train station. Got our tickets for florence and took the train in, it took about a hour and an half. But this is the same train that goes to the Tower of Pisa, so you can get off the train see Pisa get back on and continue to Florence. Make sure to write down the returning trains from Florence back to the port. We had from 8am to 8pm at the port and it was plenty of time to do what we wanted. My husband and I didnt do any of the excursion the ship offered, we did every port on our own, it was very easy!! Enjoy your trip.
