Katakolon is a tiny fishervillage. About 40 Minutes to the new village of olympia; from there only five minutes to the ancient Olympia, where in 776 v.chr. the firts olympic games were celebrated. Take a taxi to go there. It is cheaper than a guided tour from your cruise ship...

In Olympia is there much else to see other then the 1st Olympic stadium?

As for Olympia - if you are a history buff worth seeing.
Most of us chose to walk around the harbor area of Katakolon - lovely shops & restaurants.
