My husband and I are beginning to plan our first Mediterranean cruise for Fall of 2007. What temperatures can we expect as well as what type of seas? We have been told the seas tend to be rougher in late Oct. and Nov. - has anyone cruised during that time to offer their experience? Would you recommend cruising in late Aug/early Sept. or early November??

in general:
September mostly good
up to mid of October good and mild
mid October to mid November continuously colder, rougher seas
mid November- winter arrives with more rain.

Also it depends, if you go Western or Eastern Mediteranian.

first of all welcome to our cruisechat. I hope you will find many useful answers to your questions.
I recommend the Mediterranean in September. In August there are a lot of children on board the cruise ships. In sptember the weather is fine, the sea will be smooth. In the early November the winter starts. Dark mornings, eraly nights, rain - and rough sea. On one of the big ships you will not feel it anyway. Do you go westbound (Sicily, Rome, Barcelona)or eastbound (Istanbul, Dubrovnik)?
